"There's no escape for me; it wants my soul, it wants my heart."

Today was decent :)

This may end up being a super short post, maybe a super long one. I don't really know, just kind of rambling.

Intake

Breakfast

1 piece of honey wheat toast w/ 1 tbsp smart balance - 150 cals
Coconut greek yogurt - 110 cals
Dark chocolate granola thin - 80 cals

Lunch

Chocolate Slimfast shake - 180 cals
Apple - 130 cals
String cheese - 70 cals

Snacks

6" Oven Roasted Chicken on 9-grain wheat w/ lettuce, spinach, onion, pickles, and lite mayo - 360 cals
Banana - 105 cals
Cashews - 160 cals

Dinner

Homemade Stirfry - 420 cals

Total Intake: 1765 Calories

So, intake was high, but fairly healthy, so I'm good with it :) Got 4 servings of fruits/veggies, got some healthy fats, whole grains, etc. I also drank about 70oz of water, so today I think was decent. No exercise :( But tomorrow will be much better :)

I'm starting to realize I don't have to do perfect the first day I start eating well. It's a gradual change. Today I had NO beverages other than water, really limited the sweets, and stayed under 2000 cals, so I'm happy. I don't have to go back to eating 1500 cals per day right off; maybe if I make smaller changes, they will actually stick.

Also, I don't have to reach my goal weight my January. Yeah, it would be nice, but this isn't a race. All I need to do is lose; it doesn't have to all be right away. As long as I'm doing it, it doesn't matter how long it takes.

Yeah, made the stir fry myself for the first time; not fantastic. lol I'm NOT a chef! Plus it was chicken stir-fry, and the raw chicken made me wanna puke. I OVER cooked it to make sure I didn't UNDER cook it, I used way too much onion, the sauce was burnt, just, no. lol! I shall try again tomorrow, and we'll see what happens.

Going to avoid red meat most of the time from now on. I'll still eat it once in a while, but for the most part, sticking to just poultry, and may start eating fish, maybe not. I don't know.

I eventually want to become a vegetarian, and then a vegan again (was for a while, not sure why I stopped). But I want to do it gradually so it doesn't all hit me at once and I quit.

That's all for now; I'll try to update tomorrow. Wanting a snack; only ate half the stir-fry so my intake wasn't QUITE as high as I posted, so I think I'll have some graham crackers with peanut butter, and maybe a piece of string cheese.

P.S. Bought some size 13 jeans today; they're about 10 lbs away from fitting :) Hello motivation!

10 pounds away? You will get there in no time. Peanut butter on graham crackers is so tasty! Omg that just gave me a great s'more idea! If you want I can think about how I make stir fry sauce and you can try it. I make stir fry a lot. It's just one day at a time. January is a long time away, you have today, make it count :)

Great attitude! I agree that small changes that stick are much more efficient than big ones that only stay for a little while. Keep up the good work!

I love the sayings....very motivational. good luck with gradually becoming a vegan. you are smart to make the gradual change, since you are making lifelong decisions. that's good you stayed under 2000 calories, while getting 4 servings of veggies! that is pretty cool you bought some jeans in a smaller size. that takes balls. i wouldnt even spend the money going down one size. you bad. lol. hope you have a great and healthy day! :)

I'm so glad I got to see this before I started my workout today.
That last thing is really gonna help me push harder. :)
ANd you are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! It doesn't matter how long it takes you as long as you are doing it!
I have felt this way for a long time, but it is SO good to be reminded of it once in a while!!

Don't sweat the stir fry!!! It'll get better and better!!! Would you want to post the recipe? Maybe I would like to try it. :)

I'm an awful cook. I burn everything. So, once I find something that I can cook, that's pretty much all I eat! You're so positive all of the time--I love reading your posts. Keep it up!
