"Be the change you wish to see in the world."

Hey girls, wow I've been gone a while!

Haven't done too well. I think I've gained about 5 lbs. Eaten complete crap for over a week now.

And I was beating myself up, but you know what?

Shit happens.

I got off track. It happens. I've still lost over 20 lbs, and the five I gained will be gone in no time.

It's going to be fine. I won't give up. One week is NOTHING in the grand scheme of things. When I reach my goal weight, this last week won't even be remembered. It's no big deal, but it did give me a chance to re-evaluate.

Going to eat much cleaner; like I said before, even when I stay in my CALORIE limit, I still don't eat as healthy as I'd like. So, I'm going to try to do that from now on. Whole grains, fruits, veggies, etc. Limit meat and sugar intake. Limit processed foods. HIGHLY limit saturated fats, and try to avoid trans fats altogether.

Yeah, a quick tip? When you get off track, watch Supersize Me. Oh yeah. I watched it twice today, and I'm more than ready to wake up and work out, eat a healthy breakfast, and do amazing. It just makes me realize how big of a problem obesity is in America, and I don't want to be part of that problem, I want to be part of the solution.

Eating crap feels good for a few minutes. Eating healthy feels good for life.

I eat to make myself feel better. I eat because I'm bored. Not because I'm hungry. So, I'm going to keep a log for the next little while where I write down every time I eat, and how I feel before and after I do so. I think it will help me stay on track to really realize why I'm eating.

So, tomorrow I become part of the solution. I start my journey to be one less overweight/obese American. And I want to help others as well; I can and will do this. I feel even more motivated than I did before.

Annnd, we're getting a gym membership next month :) A family membership. So we're ALL going to start working out and getting in shape together. My mom told me, since I'm planning on becoming a personal trainer (going to start studying for my certification in about a month), that I needed to design her a workout plan. She told me what she wants to target, and she wants to workout 30-60 minutes 3-4 times a week, so I can start with that.

I am sooo excited about having my gym back. Group classes is the most important part to me, I love them!

So, here we go. I'm done binging and eating crap, and I'm done being lazy. Tomorrow I will rock this shit, and every day after as well.

By the way, had a fantastic smoothie this morning, try it out!

Double Chocolate Banana Smoothie

-1 banana
- 1 packet of No Sugar Added Chocolate Carnation Instant Breakfast
- 1 cup of chocolate Silk soymilk
- 1/2 of an avocado
- 2-3 ice cubes

Yummmmmm. It's chocolatey, but not too strong, and you can't taste the avocado but it gives it this AMAZING smooth, creamy texture. That's the recipe for a single serving, so double or whatever for more. Also, it has 425 calories.

So girls, remember to rock every day. No matter how much you messed up before, every day is a new start. We can do this :)

Please leave lots of comments, I need the encouragement!

Great post :) I'm doing the back on track thing tomorrow too. I love your banner "be the change" that's practically the social work motto and it's so inspiring to me. Good luck on your goals and renewed dedication!

Great job on having such a good attitude - that's half the battle! Also, once you start eating clean, there is no going back. About 8 months ago I stopped eating meat regularly, and severely limited processed foods. I'm vegetarian now (meat makes me sick) and my body can't handle processed foods. Its like you don't realize how sick its making you until you stop eating it.

I've not been doing so great either, but you really have the right attitude. We can't just give up and at least we realize that we just need to keep going. I think it is great that you want to be a personal trainer! That will really keep you on track. Great job! :)

Not to sound like a broken record or anything but this was inspiring as usual! I love how you try to focus on getting better instead of soaking up the negativity. I need to work on that.

Glad to hear that you're back! Your attitude is so great! You had a bad week and you're picking yourself up! =D

Yay for the gym! Oh! Checkout Jamie Eason's LiveFit Program. It's a 12 week program with all kinds of awesome exercises, all weight training. I did it for a little bit and in like a week I lost about five pounds, it's a really good program and can help you make up your own. Just google, she's a big fitness model. And that's great that you want to become a personal trainer! Those are the best, when you can relate to them and not the ones that have always been skinny. You can do this girl!

That's ok. Once you are back on track that 5 pounds is just going to fall off you. And maybe even then some! You are doing great, keep going :)

yay for a restart :) Sometimes it's good to just step away from it all and reevaluate why we're doing this. Being overweight didn't happen over night. there are true causes behind why we allow ourselves to get so unhealthy. it's good to check why those were in place and what our best goal to combat them is. Glad you're back on board. WE CAN DO THIS!

I love this post! <3
Though that image about diet being 35% bugs me hardcore. I've done some research on nutrition (well, about two years worth) and I've talked to a few nutritionist. They say about 70-80% of weight loss is your diet.
Stay strong! I'm glad you're not letting this slip up hold you back!

I stumbled onto your website by accident. But your purpose kept me here. Seems as if you've disappeared so I was hoping to know what the latest update was.
