Yeah, 'Save Rock and Roll' has been on repeat for a week.
So, things have been up and down. I've been eating more than I should, but enough to lose a little weight.
I lost 1.8 lbs since my last weigh-in, putting me at 215.4 lbs. NOT as much as I'd like to have lost, but you get the results you work for, and I didn't work hard enough.
But, it is a loss. So I'm content with it :)
I've been binging for four days, considering my highly dramatic weekend, being sick and stressed, and not knowing how to deal with it otherwise. I would work out to deal with stress, but I've been so sick the last week I can barely get out of bed.
But it was only four days out of the month, so there's no need to beat myself up. I'm turning it all around today.
I'm going to lay in bed for the most part, because I have a minor case of strep throat as well as unexplained sinus congestion and pain. However, I will do some sitting down arm work later. I need some exercise, I'm losing it over here!
Yeah I had to go get a CT scan of my sinus cavity yesterday. I've been having constant congestion, sinus headaches, as well as sharp pains, tingling and throbbing in my sinuses and nasal cavities. No allergy medication or antibiotics help, so they want to see what else could be going on. I'm just sick of this constant pain, plus a dazed, dreamlike feeling due to pressure in my sinuses and behind my eyes.
Blahh...
I have other things to focus on though. Getting my eating back on track!
Started the day with a DELICIOUS protein shake. Recipe for you!
- 4 tbsp whey protein powder (or soy, whatever you prefer) - 2 tbsp all natural peanut butter - 1 cup 0% organic milk (or soy, or whole, or whatever you drink) - 1 banana - 3-5 cubes of ice
And blend :) Makes one serving of 490 calories, and 32 grams of protein. It's sooo good, my new favorite thing. Try it sometime, and let me know what you think!
For lunch I'm doing Greek yogurt and a bell pepper with spinach dip.
I'm just SO ready to lose this weight. It will be Summer before you know it, and dammit I want to wear short shorts!
Plus, I'm tired of being sick all the time, and if I take better care of myself I probably won't get sick so often.
It's just time to do this. Four days off track doesn't mean I need three months off track! The only thing worse than falling off the wagon, is staying off the wagon.
And I will not. I have to stop letting a few bad days derail me for weeks!
I have a ton of healthy groceries, and a ton of motivation.
I'm doing a weight loss challenge on Facebook, and my first weigh-in is the 6th. I will be down 2.4 lbs by then. It's up to me, and I'll make it happen.
And you girls, get up and make YOUR goals happen!

I know I'm horrible about updating! But I've had a really weird time of it lately, once it starts evening out I'll update every day again. Until then, I'll do it when I have the time.
I hope everyone is doing well! Friday was my first week without a weekly weigh-in in a while. I wanted to weigh SO bad, I feel like I've lost weight! But I'll wait until the end of the month. I hope to see a huge number, so I'm working my ass off!
I've been eating pretty well, and I've started exercising a little more. Wednesday I did an hour long Zumba class and it was amazing! I loved it so much, the teacher was crazy! I loved the energy. I don't have the money to go every week, but I'll go when I can. Plus if I bring someone new with me I get a free class for every person I bring, so I need to find some friends to tag along!
Then Thursday I was SUPER busy (had to go to the local college to take some pre-tests for my GED), but I managed a 10 minute strength circuit, as well as walked for about 45 minutes around the campus when I was between tests and when I finished while waiting for my ride.
Then yesterday, well, eating was atrocious. I'm talking almost 3000 calories. I was a bit disgusted. But, I did something about it! I walked for about 2 hours, which burns about 690 calories, then I did a straight hour of Tae-Bo which burns about 1,100, so I burned over 1,700 calories yesterday! So, with my BMR, I broke even.
Then today I went for a 40 minute walk.
Let me tell you, I am SO sore from that Tae-Bo! I'm so proud of myself, I PUSHED, hard! I have never pushed that hard! I just kept telling myself "It's not your body telling you to quit, it's your mind. Shut her up with more!"
I had the weighted gloves going, doing crazy arm moves, and I am sore as hell today. My shoulders, arms, back, abs, EVERYTHING hurts. But good hurt. Like I know it's working :)
So today I'm having dinner with the family, so I should come in at about 2000 calories. That's a good amount for weekends. I've decided to lower my calorie intake during the week to 1800, then 2000 on weekends.
I can't wait for weigh-in day. Three more weeks to go.
And not being able to weigh every week is making me even more motivated to work hard, because I want to see a huge number at the end of the month.
I'm definitely stepping up my workouts this week. I'm going to do something every single day. I want to do Tae-Bo at least twice, Jillian Michaels Shed N Shred once, and I'm going to check out another DVD from the library. Plus I will do strength at least twice, one of which being a kettlebell circuit. I know I would be losing so much faster if I worked out more, so I plan to!
Okay ladies, I have a question for you. PLEASE either comment or message me the answer.
What have YOU accomplished with fitness?
For my fitness Facebook page (facebook.com/GettingSexyerFitness), I'm having a week of "I Did It". A week of posting stories throughout the day of girls successes to show us all we can do it!
It can be ANYTHING. A weight loss (any amount), fitting into your skinny pants, losing inches, completing a race, joining a sport/winning a competition, beating an illness or eating disorder, pushing yourself harder than usual in your workouts, trying a new workout, adding more fruits and veggies to your diet, trying a new healthy recipe, ANYTHING at all! It can be long term (I've been recovered for 5 years, I lose 100 lbs over x amount of time, etc.), or short term (tried Crossfit last week, drank more water today), anything at all, and you can share more than one (in fact, feel encouraged!).
I know we have ALL made huge strides, and I want to hear about them! So comment or message me with your success, and your name (or tell me if you wish to stay anonymous) and where you're from (I don't need your town, just state or country if not the US). And I'll start posting them tomorrow. I promise to share EVERYONE'S, so like the page and you'll see yours :)
That's all for now, let me know how you're doing!
By the way, if you haven't already (and you eat grains), try Nature's Path Pumpkin Flax Granola. Oh my god, best thing ever. With milk, with peanut butter, just eating it dry, SO good. My new favorite thing.

So sorry I keep taking these impromptu hiatus', I just keep having so much going on, or I don't feel good, or whatever.
I'm still not feeling 100%. I'm having this constant foggy/dazed feeling, I hate it. I think it's just my sinus' though. Blahh, Spring. I have such a love hate relationship with you.
Not to mention it's Spring, but it's still kind of chilly, and raining. So it's twice as bad.
On to the positive!
I lost another pound the last week of March :) So now I'm at 217.4
However, now it's time to kick it into super high gear!
I'm only planning on weighing in once a month from now on. It would just be encouraging to see a bigger number, plus no more little fluctuations bothering me.
That's the plan. So I won't weigh-in again until probably the 25th.
I'm just ready to really lose this weight. I want to lose at least 10 lbs this month, and I know that if I work super hard I can do it.
I've been eating much better lately, so that's a plus. And, I'm going to Zumba tonight! I'm super excited, I can't wait!
It's a one hour group class, plus I'm walking to it and back.
Oh and remember everyone, it's National Walk Day, so try to get a 30 minute walk in somewhere today!
Random, anyone here a Fall Out Boy fan? They're pretty much my favorite band. (Not pretty much, they just are)
Patrick has lost a TON of weight! I've been watching interviews and stuff, and it was all portion control and exercise. He completely reinvented himself!
If he can do it, I sure as hell can too!
I guess that's all. I'm sorry I'm so boring lately girls!
I just hope everyone else is doing well.
I'll update tomorrow and let you know how my class went.
And I swear I'll start updating at least ALMOST daily, and working out every day. Leave me some encouragement, I know I need it!
What are your goals for April?
P.S. I'm super excited right now. A close friend of mine and her partner are having a baby, and they've asked me to be the god mother! Looks like I have another reason to become a good example.
P.S.S. If anyone here hasn't already, check out my fitness Facebook page!

Hey there girls, sorry I'm not on often. I've been doing pretty good!
Monday was decent. I didn't sleep the night before, so I was exhausted. But, since I couldn't sleep I put that time to good use and cleaned the house. It looks SO much better. Around 5 I went to bed then I got up at 6, so I only slept about an hour.
Yesterday was okay. Calories were good, but food wasn't.
However, today I've done great so far!
Woke up, had a healthy breakfast (a piece of whole grain toast w/ 1 tbsp cream cheese, a banana, a Cutie, banana cream Greek yogurt, and a glass of water). Then I did my chores, now I'm sitting relaxing for a little while.
Not planning to work out today though because I have a KILLER sinus headache. I've felt like I'm in a daze for weeks now, and I started getting sinus headaches a few days ago. So I have another sinus infection.
I got rid of my UTI the natural way, so I'm going to TRY to get rid of this sinus infection without antibiotics. They never help me anyways, and it's just like the UTI, it takes 7 or 9 rounds to even make a different, and even then it never goes away 100%.
I'm going to try a nasal saline rinse, and try to eat more infection fighting foods. I'm also going to do the steam breathing thing. I'm not going 100% natural though, because I'm going to get some Allegra D. I've heard it works better than antibiotics anyways.
So, if it's not better in a week I'll go to the doctor. I can't get in until then anyways.
So, next week I'm starting a new workout routine :) It goes like this:
Sunday
30+ minutes of yoga
Monday
10 minute All Day Energy morning workout 45+ minutes of cardio
Tuesday
15 minute Boost Metabolism morning workout 30+ minutes of strength
Wednesday
20 minute Morning Yoga morning workout Blogilates HIIT
Thursday
15+ minute morning walk 30+ minutes of cardio 10 minute kettlebell routine
Friday
45+ minutes of any workout I want
Saturday
Short walk
Hopefully that will be a good routine. I'm going to try to start doing a morning workout during the week, and then doing my main workout later.
So, that's about it. I don't have much to say.
This Friday will be my last weekly weigh-in. After that, I'm only going to weigh-in once a month. I think it will be more encouraging to see bigger numbers, and not have to worry about little things making my weigh-in off.
Also, I'm making low-fat pumpkin pancakes for dinner tonight :) I'll tell you all the recipe if it's good.
Random little tip:
- Drink 2 glasses of water (16oz) first thing in the morning to cleanse your colon and get your organs working more efficiently.
Also, make sure to check what's in your food. Kraft is owned by Altria, the country's biggest tobacco company. Yeah.
P.S. If you have a Facebook (which I know you do), check out my fitness page. Go to https://www.facebook.com/GettingSexyerSupport. Like it up :) | | |

Hey girls, sorry I haven't been on much the last few days. I don't have much to say lately!
But, I did weigh in today.
218.4.
I lost .8 lbs. Not quite the whole pound I was looking for, but I didn't exercise much or drink enough water this week, so I'm happy with ANY loss! Plus my period is due to start in about 5 days so I know I'm bloated "/
But next week will kick ass for sure :) I just feel so motivated!
Next week I'm starting a new exercise regimen. I'm starting C25K, but since that's only about 15 minutes three times a week of course I'm going to have to add something else in. I'll post a detailed workout plan tomorrow.
But I'm also starting the 30 Day Squat challenge tomorrow! The plan is the picture above. Anyone else in?
Also, I'm trying to go the next couple of weeks without ANY man made face washes. They're so harsh and irritate my skin, and honestly they always either make me break or worse, dry me out, or make my skin feel oily.
So, I'm trying a scrub recipe I found online. 100% natural :)
It is (roughly, I didn't measure exactly):
- 3/4 cup brown sugar (to exfoliate; the grains are the perfect size for exfoliation) - 3-5 tbsp olive oil (to moisturize; the skin absorbs olive oil VERY well) - 1 tbsp honey (for antioxidants) - 1 tbsp instant coffee (helps get rid of the bags under your eyes) - The juice of half a lemon (to kill bacteria) - Water (just until it's still thick but you can mix it)
Just mix it all together. I use it twice a day with my moisturizers. My skin is so dry, it just needs a break from washing it with the usual stuff.
I'm also adding lemon to my water every morning :)
Recipe time!
Super delicious, and EXTREMELY healthy!
All credit to Shayloss on Youtube.
My sister found this recipe on youtube and decided it looked delicious, and since we're both trying to eat healthier (me for obvious reasons but she's on a special semi-diet do to problems with her pancreas, so she HAS to eat healthier), we decided it would be a fun sister thing to make this together :)
It's a quinoa salad!
You can put it in a wrap, dip chips in it (we got tortilla chips), and omg it tastes like the salsa from my favorite Mexican restaurant! It was seriously surprisingly delicious, you guys HAVE to try it! Plus it's super simple!
Now with ingredients, keep in mind how much you need of each thing varies by how many people are eating it and your personal tastes. This is just the amounts WE personally liked, but the whole point is these veggies go well together, so just put how much you like of each!
Ours made about 3-5 servings.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups quinoa - 1/2 a jalapeno - 3 cloves of garlic - 1 green bell pepper - 1/3 of an onion - 2 tomatoes - a small bunch of fresh cilantro - a small can of corn - 1/3 cup of olive oil - 1 tbsp ground cumin - 1 lime
Cook the quinoa based on the instructions on the package.
While that's simmering, chop up the jalapeno, garlic, bell pepper, onion, tomatoes and cilantro into smallish chunks (just whatever texture you like). Mix together.
Open the can of corn and add it in.
When the quinoa is done, add it to the bowl.
Then, take the olive oil, cumin, and the juice of the lime and mix it all together in a separate bowl (mix WELL, because you don't want any cumin chunks!).
Pour over the salad, and mix together well.
Eat :)
It was soooo good. We have some left to snack on tomorrow. We decided it's going to be sister time every weekend, and we'll make enough to put in the fridge for a couple days to snack on :)
I think that's all for now. I hope everyone is doing well, next week we're all going to do amazing!
